Looking Glass's Homeless Youth Services Programs are hiring for on-call relief positions!

The Relief staff are responsible for on-call relief counselor work with adolescents in crisis intervention, outreach, and residential programs within Looking Glass.

Relief staff are responsible for the provision of culturally informed, effective, quality services to clients at the Looking Glass PEER Shelter, Station 7, and New Roads Programs. This position assists with providing crisis intervention, maintaining a positive milieu and creating behavior management plans for youth who access services. This position actively supports and upholds the commitment to equity, anti-racism and belonging throughout all duties of the position.

This position includes coverage of Street Outreach, including responsibility for greeting youth upon entering New Roads or Rural drop-in center; providing education, prevention services and referral information regarding issues of sexual abuse, domestic violence, trafficking, and other issues relevant to homeless and runaway youth. You will also assist with classroom presentations, cleanliness of drop-in center, outreach to community groups and participates in regular street outreach shifts

People who succeed in this role have a passion for helping youth and are able to relate to teens from all different backgrounds, values, and cultures. You must be a positive youth mentor and role model who can demonstrate strong boundaries. You must be able to maintain confidentiality and handle stressful situations.

Schedule varies and takes your availability into account! Pay ranges from $21.10/hour - $27/hour depending on location
