At United Way of Lane County (UWLC), we are proud to serve as the backbone organization for the Early Childhood Hub of Lane County (Hub). We are currently seeking a Marketing and Outreach Coordinator for the Hub to lead the development and implementation of inclusive, community-centered marketing and outreach strategies that normalize and destigmatize support during pregnancy and early childhood and promote equity and access to preschool and childcare as well as all other Hub initiatives. This role is responsible for managing digital platforms, including the Hub's WordPress-based website, and coordinating with multiple agencies and providers to create cohesive, culturally responsive messaging and marketing materials. The ideal candidate has strong interpersonal skills and a passion for community engagement and early childhood development. Being bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus!

This position will be a part of the Resource Navigation team and will work closely with Preschool Promise staff and United Way of Lane County's Marketing Team to support the marketing goals of the organization and ensure alignment on vision and voice.

 

This grant-funded position requires weekly in-person collaboration with some flexibility for remote work a few hours per week. This position may require the use of a personal vehicle to attend work-related events and activities from time to time.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL DUTIES OF POSITION

An individual must be able to perform each essential duty listed below at a satisfactory level:

 

  • Groundwork activities in anti-racism, equity, intersectionality, and other areas important to social justice
  • Work closely with United Way of Lane County's Marketing Team to ensure cohesion and consistency of shared or complementary strategy, branding, messaging, and more; works in alignment with UWLC Marketing and Communications Director's strategy
  • Steward and uphold Hub brand consistency internally and externally
  • Assist with Hub marketing campaign strategy and execution
  • Research and develop compelling stories for use across Hub and United Way of Lane County departments
  • Develop, implement, and execute a Hub-wide social media strategy that actively engages our communities and tracks data metrics to ensure we are reaching our desired audience.
  • Conduct outreach and engagement with community agencies, providers, and families to promote available resources and drive traffic to the Hub's website.
  • Manage and provide ongoing content updates to the WordPress-based website
  • Managed digital marketing platforms and tools to expand Hub reach to new audiences
  • Create Hub basic design collateral for print and digital use, including flyers, postcards, social media and web graphics, etc.
  • Support planning and management of in-person and virtual events and engagement opportunities, in partnership with United Way of Lane County's Marketing Team
  • Develop and expand advertising content and opportunities
  • Track, analyze, and improve Hub marketing activities
  • Managerial relationships with print vendors and digital marketing platforms
  • Support photography/video creation to align with creative direction
  • Serve on departmental and cross-functional committees in support of the Hub's mission and goals
  • Provide project support to other Hub departments and teams periodically, building depth of knowledge to inform marketing and communications content development
  • Represent the Hub and/or United Way of Lane County at community events
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum requirements include:

 

  • Relevant bachelor's degree or equivalent, relevant work experience
  • 2 years of previous experience in marketing and communications
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and supporting the anti-racist efforts of the Early Childhood Hub of Lane County and United Way of Lane County
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience creating compelling stories
  • Basic design skills and experience in Canva, Adobe Spark, and WordPress; proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite is a plus
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Self-starter with the ability to take initiative and prioritize multiple projects and deadlines
  • Experienced in managing and growing social media platforms in professional settings
  • Experience with content management systems and web design
  • Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and quality control
  • Active commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully in a collaborative team environment
  • Preference will be given to candidates bilingual in Spanish and English

SALARY STATEMENT

The budgeted lifespan salary range for this position is currently $22.75-$31.85 per hour. Salaries are determined by several factors, including the applicant's knowledge, skills, experience, position, equity, and market.
