Oregon Urology Institute (OUI) is one of the largest urology practices in Oregon. OUI is the only urology practice in Lane and Douglas County, has satellite locations in Roseburg and Florence with our main office located in Springfield. We have 25+ providers (MD/PA/NP) and around 200 employees between OUI and OSC (day surgery center).

This position is to support the OUI's In-Office Dispensary (IOD) as it relates to our Intermittent catheter program. Above all else, Oregon Urology Institute is committed to the care and well-being of the people we serve. In recognition of this commitment, we will strive to deliver excellent, cost-effective healthcare in the community we serve, to include providing durable medical equipment to the 400+ patients who rely on intermittent catheters.

OUI assists patients by placing orders for catheters and catheter supplies, ensuring documentation is thorough in the EMR, obtaining signatures and copayments for delivery, etc.

Essential Functions:

  • Assist with care calls as needed to understand patient needs as it relates to catheters
  • Communicate with patients on supply delivery
  • Meet with patients while at OUI to discuss catheter options/cost
  • Deliver catheters to patients directly
  • Order catheter samples for home delivery, when necessary if patient is nearly out of supplies
  • Assist with prior authorization and revenue cycle workflows
  • Keep meticulous records within our Electronic Medical Record and various subsystems
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:

  • Experience with Catheters to include familiarity with catheter types (preferred)
  • Proven experience working independently and in a team environment
  • Familiarity working with insurance companies to include pre-authorization experience
  • High school diploma

Experience Required:

  • Experience with direct patient interactions within a Medical Group environment.

  • Must be flexible, quick learner, team player
  • Excellent computer skills and ability to work simultaneously in different computer applications
  • Ability to multitask
  • Self-motivated, driven, does not need to be prompted to complete tasks
  • Must be able to communicate in both written and verbal form clearly and effectively to physicians, patients and coworkers.
  • Must develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with physicians and staff.
